Charlie Woodworth

Charlie Woodworth joined Greater Franklin Development Council as the Executive Director in September of 2017. He and the Board have broadened its mission focus to include economic and community development recognizing that the later underpins the former.

Greater Franklin wants to remove the roadblocks that currently hinder opportunities for students, remote workers, the elderly and our businesses. As an entrepreneur, Woodworth has an appreciation for the challenges facing business owners. An adequate labor pool is one of them. Recognizing that our county has a shrinking and aging population, he has been leading the Franklin County Broadband Initiative which aims to create access to reliable high-speed internet throughout Franklin County. This has required broad outreach to, and buy-in from, towns, businesses and citizens. To date, more than one half of the county residents can now connect to a fiber network. This outreach process has helped identify additional priorities which are childcare, workforce housing and transportation.

Charlie and his wife Merrie reside in Freeman Township, just outside of Kingfield, and love meeting people out on the trails whether hiking, biking or xc skiing.
