Dave Cota

Dave has extensive municipal government management experience having managed three Maine communities for a total of forty-seven years the last twenty-four years as the Town Manager of Carrabassett Valley. He is particularly proud of his involvement in many collaborative projects and initiatives involving the Town and Carrabassett Valley’s major resort and regional employer, Sugarloaf Mountain Corporation, and with many other community entities. Much was accomplished but, as in many towns and cities across Maine, the lack of affordable housing remains a critical problem.

Now retired, Dave remains active in the community serving on the Town’s comprehensive plan committee, golf course committee and budget committee. Regionally, Dave serves on the Western Maine Mountain Housing Board and the Board of the non-profit Western Maine Transportation, Inc. which provides the largest public transportation network in Maine.

Dave continues to live in Carrabassett Valley with his wife and enjoys many outdoor recreation activities. He is an avid hiker having “through hiked” the  Appalachian, Pacific Crest and Colorado trails.
